Our Mission
The mission of the Entertainment, Arts, and Sports (EAS) Committee is to advance the three objectives of USIPA, which are to promote IP awareness & education, IP ecosystem collaboration, and IP access and engagement, with a focus on how these objectives can positively contribute to the EAS community.

Our Committee membership spans the breadth of the EAS community and represents an array of professional backgrounds, including actors, artists, attorneys, authors, choreographers, directors, entrepreneurs, fashion designers, musicians, photographers, policy advocates, professors, students and young professionals
Our Initiatives

IP Ambassadors
Promote IP awareness and education through panels, including by expanding Committee members’ knowledge to be able to provide basic and concrete tips, useable information and best practices to the EAS community about IP fundamentals and resources available to the community.

Emerging Leaders
Promote ecosystem collaboration by including students and young professionals from the EAS community in the Committee’s work, with a commitment to lifting up their voices to reach broader audiences, including through new means and new messages that resonate with their peers.

EAS State Network
Promote IP Access and Engagement by collaborating with USIPA State Alliances, including by supporting their efforts to grow EAS community membership and programming as well as to collaborate on awareness-raising panels, social media, strategic partnerships and other initiatives.

IP & Sports
Develop EAS Committee expertise in the wide ranging, complex and rapidly evolving world of intellectual property and sports, including with respect to rights of publicity and name-image-and-likeness, both in the courts and in Congress, but also in the real world, in the lives of athletes and their families as well as colleges, universities and beyond.

Strategic Partnerships
Develop and establish three strategic partnerships for the Committee with organizations, academic institutions, government agencies, and other entities in the EAS community. which include joint participation in an event, social media collaboration, and other forms of cooperation, so as to leverage expertise and other resources.

Communications
Develop and sustain awareness raising initiatives through communications engagement, including social media, webinars, the website, live streaming of panel and other events, and other creative content that reflects and respects the EAS community. Provide EAS Committee members with opportunist to showcase key IP topics to their peers.
