US IP Alliance - Starting the journey to change the world

“If you look at history, innovation doesn't come just from giving people incentives; it comes from creating environments where their ideas can connect.”

Science Fiction Author, Steven Johnson

While discussion about intellectual property is often complex and abstract, a well-functioning intellectual property regime and an ecosystem that incentivizes innovation plays a big role in bringing ideas to the market, generating jobs, and transforming economies. (Intellectual Property - A Power Tool for Economic Growth, Kamal Idris, WIPO Publication).

The Georgia IP Alliance (GIPA) launched in 2018 to bring all the players involved in this ecosystem together in Georgia. Building on that platform, the United States Intellectual Property Alliance (USIPA) was formed in 2020 and hit its stride in 2021. Now in 2022, we continue to grow.

The USIPA was launched by bringing together the various players in the national IP Ecosystem under one roof and creating connections to help bring ideas to market efficiently. The USIPA intends to fuel economic opportunity and improve lives of all citizens of the United States with a mission of ‘Empowering IP to Advance Society’. We are successful when ideas get from people’s heads into people’s hands, ‘Heads to Hands’, as soon as possible at fair prices.

The USIPA is built on a foundation of People, Relationships, Trust, with a focus on three main pillars:

  • - IP Awareness and Education: Facilitating IP Learning so every citizen can understand the value of and their role with Intellectual Property;

  • - IP Ecosystem Collaboration: Enabling all the players involved in IP to come together to bring ideas from ‘Head to Hands’ effectively and efficiently;

  • - IP Diversity & Inclusion: Helping every citizen of the United States make the best of their abilities and ideas as part of the IP ecosystem, irrespective of their race, gender or background.

As we emerge from our first full year of existence, we look back at it with pride, realizing that there is much more to be done. Want to get involved? Sponsor, donate or contact us.
